Clinical Supervision

I offer clinical supervision for psychotherapists, counsellors and those in other helping professions working with adults. My private practice and clinical supervision are guided by the ethical principles of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).

I believe that effective supervision is grounded in a relationship of mutual respect, openness, and collaboration. My intention is to model ethical and reflective practice by fostering a supervisory relationship that is developmental and empowering. Recognising that every practitioner learns differently, I tailor supervision to your individual learning style, stage of development, and professional needs. My aim is to provide a supportive and appropriately challenging space that encourages reflection, deepens clinical understanding, and promotes safe, ethical, and effective practice.

Central to my approach is the concept of "power with", developed by Mary Parker Follett (1868–1933), which views power as something shared, collaborative, and co-created rather than exercised over another. This philosophy encourages learning through partnership, recognising that supervisor and supervisee each bring valuable knowledge, experience, and perspectives to the supervisory process.

This collaborative stance resonates with the Transactional Analysis concept of the "I'm OK, You're OK" life position (Ernst, 1971), which values mutual respect, autonomy, and equality within the supervisory relationship.
