About Me

My experience as a psychotherapist spans a range of settings, including charities, higher education and private practice. Working with clients from diverse backgrounds and cultures has given me a broad understanding of the different experiences, challenges and perspectives that can shape our lives.

Before training as a psychotherapist, I worked in marketing and training, where I experienced first-hand the pressures and demands of corporate life. This combination of corporate experience and psychotherapy training gives me a unique perspective, enabling me to understand and support clients who may be navigating the complexities of work, relationships, identity and personal wellbeing.

My Integrative Approach

My integrative approach to psychotherapy brings together ideas and techniques from different therapeutic approaches, rather than working within just one model. Some examples are included below.

Gestalt therapy this is a humanistic and experiential approach to psychotherapy that focuses on what is happening for you in the present moment—including your thoughts, feelings, bodily sensations, behaviours and relationships. Rather than focusing only on why something happened in the past, Gestalt therapy is interested in how past experiences may still be affecting you now and how these patterns show up in your current life.

Psychodynamic therapy this explores how past experiences, relationships and unconscious patterns may influence the present.

Developmental and attachment-based approaches considering how early relationships can shape our expectations and ways of relating to others.

Mindfulness or other approaches helping clients develop greater awareness of their thoughts, emotions and bodily experiences.

Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) looking at the relationship between thoughts, feelings and behaviours.

Most importantly as an integrative therapist I consider the individual, their circumstances, personality, relationships and goals to develop an approach that is tailored to them.
