Psychotherapy and counselling are both talking therapies which offer you a safe, confidential space to explore what’s troubling you, but they work at different depths of understanding. Counselling focuses on shorter term help to clarity and ways forward through your current situation.
Psychotherapy goes deeper, and may last longer helping you understand how past experiences might be shaping your present life, bringing unconscious patterns to the fore so you can make more lasting changes in how you think, feel and relate to others.
Talking therapies are usually facilitated by weekly sessions on either a short or long term basis which we discuss at the beginning of our time together.

Relational
The most important part of my practice is to work relationally with you which means that we work together to help you to reveal the things you want to address and wish to achieve. Working together we may bring the relevance of the past into awareness and its impact on life patterns and relationships. Perhaps uncovering the root causes of stuck patterns or unhelpful ways of behaving and thinking that could be destructive or unhealthy for you.
Exploration
We may identify ways to help you combat stress, anxiety or periods of depression that are hindering a sense of experiencing and enjoying life in a way that is more beneficial for you. Other times, we might focus on what's happening right now, exploring practical ways to move forward. We may also agree to incorporate helpful mindful and breathing practices to help you manage the impact of trauma, difficult feelings and emotions.
Integration
As an integrative psychotherapist, the way I work will be dependent on your individual needs and life circumstances.
My hope is that our therapeutic work will help you to integrate parts of yourself that have perhaps remained hidden and accept and heal the parts that have caused pain and hurt, enabling you to go in the direction that is right for you to make helpful lasting changes.
I offer a 20-minute consultation where you can share what's bringing you to therapy and what you hope to gain from it. It's a chance for us to see if we feel comfortable talking together, and identify whether what you bring to therapy is a longer-term or shorter-term issue as well as giving you the opportunity to ask any questions.
For some people, being in nature can help thoughts and feelings flow more naturally. I offer walking therapy sessions in Leamington's parks as an alternative to traditional face-to-face sessions. Our sessions begin and end at my practice, with our therapeutic conversation taking place as we walk together. Many people find this a more comfortable way to explore their feelings, with the added benefits that come from movement and being outside in nature.
When you're struggling in your relationship, it can feel overwhelming and isolating. Whether you're finding it hard to communicate, dealing with trust issues, or feeling disconnected from each other, couples counselling provides a space where both of you can feel heard and understood. The focus is on your relationship itself - helping you understand your patterns together and find ways to move forward. Sometimes this means rebuilding your connection; other times, it's about managing separation with care and respect.
Other Relationships
It's not just romantic relationships that can leave us feeling confused or hurt. Whether you're struggling with family dynamics, friendship difficulties, or parent-child relationships, having a space to explore these important connections can help bring clarity and understanding. Together, we can work towards improving communication and finding new ways to relate to those who matter most in your life.
